I became a Corporate Executive in my early thirties and continued in that role for over sixteen years. I was a key contributor in the benefits area of the Human Resources function for a global manufacturing company and remained with the organization over the years as it transitioned from a threshold company to a growth company. I led the global benefits function which supported over 5,000 employees. I was also a core member of the acquisition team which involved due diligence as well as the integration of not only benefits but the entire human resources function for over 25 acquisitions.
One of the accomplishments I am most proud of is leading the creation and implementation of a global health and wellness program. This program encouraged employees and their families to make lifestyle changes to improve health and included health screenings as well as onsite programs to promote healthy living. In addition, exercise incentives were awarded to participants for completing mileage/minute milestones for exercise. The wellness program was gratifying for me because it made me realize that many times people can make changes if they are provided with the tools that they need to make the change. A process goal focus was utilized in this program stressing consistency and setting small process goals. As a result, the workforce improved their health and they adopted a healthier lifestyle.
